About Me

Picture
View My Work
I am an early career researcher in philosophy, currently based at the University of Warwick. I am broadly interested in the philosophy of mind and of psychology; particularly issues concerning temporal experience and social cognition.

In my doctoral thesis, Experiencing (in) Time (2019), I present a phenomenological investigation of our experience of time – of things as they fall within time – and suggest that something important goes missing in recent debates. This is the notion of a point of view. I argue that articulating the sense in which we have a point of view in time, and what this is a point of view upon, is crucial to an account of how things are for an experiencing subject.

From April 1st, 2019, I took up the position of postdoctoral research assistant on the interdisciplinary AHRC project 'Time: Between Metaphysics and Psychology'.

You can find more information about my research on PhilPeople and, if you wish, you can reach out to me on Twitter.
Teaching

I enjoy teaching a range of philosophy, particularly philosophy of mind and the history of philosophy. I have been employed as a sessional teacher, at the University of Warwick, for the following modules: Central Themes in Philosophy (topics covering philosophy of psychology, philosophy of mind, philosophy of action, and metaphysics, 2019-2020); Descartes & Mill (2016-17); Elements of Scientific Method (2016-17); History of Modern Philosophy (2018-19); Introduction to Philosophy (topics covering philosophy of mind, epistemology, aesthetics, and metaphysics, 2017-18 and 2019-2020); Mind & Reality (topics covering philosophy of mind, aesthetics, epistemology, and metaphysics, 2017-18 and 2018-19); Philosophy of Time (2019-2020); Plato & Descartes (2017-18).

For Mind & Reality I delivered a guest lecture in 2017-18 and in 2018-19. I was also nominated for the 2017-18 Warwick Awards for Teaching Excellence for Postgraduates who Teach.
Aside from my research, I enjoy spending my time hiking, or listening to and playing music. If you can think of any opportunities for me to combine my interests with my research then I would love to hear from you!
